该装置无需其它能源，利用普通塑料袋分类存放垃圾，悬挂于柜门和柜体的挂钩上，并能随柜门的启闭使各袋口自动开合, 柜门可以自动闭合，并能方便地进行拆装和清洗；各分装垃圾袋可以按可回收和不可回收进行分类，分别或同时存取；不占用多余的空间；在有电动粉碎机的情形下，此装置可处理一些金属或骨物等电动粉碎机不宜处理的废弃物，达到两者的互相补充。
